In 1914 Dr. Alexander Wacker founded the Gesellschaft für elektrochemi-sche Industrie AG (Society for electro-chemical Industry). Today, Wacker Chemie AG is a globally operating chemical group with about 14,700 employees* and 24 pro-duction plants. WACKER broke new ground in the project: With the agile Lean Workplace method from T-Systems MMS, the project was launched under the joint project management of the IT and Corporate Communi-cations divisions. The aim was to strengthen the relevance of the intranet in the Digitial Workplace and to facilitate the seamless interaction of the digital tools. The new WACKER GLOBE serves as an aggregator of various collaboration and service tools such as Office 365, SharePoint Online or ServiceNow, as well as a communication platform for news, events and dialog. T-Systems MMS acted as a consultant to the WACKER team dur-ing all project phases, from conception to implementation and successful launch.
