As an IT service provider, Nord Ost West Informationstechnik GmbH (NOW IT) provides five pension insurance providers with high-performance IT solutions. NOW IT sets up and optimizes the IT structures, develops IT strategies and provides further IT services. NOW IT develops procedures to ensure the maintenance and storage of insurance accounts, to determine the provision of pension and rehabilitation benefits, and to ensure the provision of advice and information. Overall, NOW IT is responsible for supporting around 18,000 computers at all locations of the pension insurance institutions. The dynamic IT environment of the carriers with container technology is to be monitored with a new application performance management solution. T-Systems MMS is one of two partners in Germany to achieve Premier status with the provider Dynatrace. In addition, T-Systems MMS already cooperates with one of the pension insurance providers.   • Requirements

    A Proactive End-to-End Monitoring of All Components

    In order to be able to provide competent and reliable support to the IT landscape of the five pension insurance providers as a reliable partner, precise monitoring of the components is essential. With the old JBoss Operations Network solution, this was not possible in an IT environment with container technology. A holistic view was lacking, each area of responsibility worked out insights for itself. A powerful tool should significantly improve proactive end-to-end monitoring. Dynatrace will monitor and analyze the entire IT infrastructure and the applications above it, such as Citrix NetScaler, and deliver alerts to IT managers via dashboards. The development area is given access to help solve problems in the event of a failure.

    Implementation of a Dynatrace Platform with Scalable Rental Licences

    In order to be able to monitor the container-based IT environment, NOW IT's goal was to replace the previous monitoring tool and introduce Dynatrace. T-Systems MMS implemented the Dynatrace platform in the customer's data center and provided scalable rental licenses. A central instance ensures operation and usage management. The artificial intelligence integrated into Dynatrace establishes causal relationships in business processes and software development, for example, so that the causes of IT disruptions can be quickly and efficiently identified and remedied. In order to be able to intervene quickly in the event of a problem, the development department is also given access to the system. To ensure optimum operation, T-Systems MMS trains those responsible and provides support.

    Intelligent monitoring that learns as it goes, thanks to AI, creates a holistic view that includes the entire IT landscape with all applications. Operations and development teams work together better and in a networked manner according to the Dev-Ops principle, since a problem analysis can now be addressed by all participants from all areas. This significantly speeds up troubleshooting and ensures efficient collaboration. The new tool is easy to use and quickly scalable thanks to rental licenses.
