CADFEM

Award-winning e-business platform
for the simulation pioneer

A family-owned company CADFEM established in 1985 near Munich is one of the leading providers of simulation solutions in the product development. CADFEM is always associated with the close partnership with Ansys: CADFEM distributes the entire Ansys simulation portfolio to all disciplines of simulation in the product development. Since software alone is not enough to guarantee the success of a simulation, CADFEM provides products, services and know-how from a single provider: Software and IT solutions. Consulting, support, engineering. Know-how-transfer. A modern E-Business platform should enable new sales channels and create a uniform brand image. Together with T-Systems MMS, a perfect solution was developed, which standardizes touchpoints and consolidates data. A project that recently won the E-Commerce Germany Award 2020.

Revenue growth and improved lead generation through new sales channel and user oriented UX-design

Increase in reliability, performance and user friendliness

Establishment of an uniform and sustainable brand image

  • Requirements

Customized online strategy for an uniform brand image

The early pioneering of CADFEM for simulation solutions correlates with an IT-landscape grown over the years, which should be designed now in a process-optimized manner. Accordingly, CADFEM was searching for a service provider, who should consolidate the entire infrastructure and create a complete user experience for the employees and customers. For this purpose, firstly the development of an online strategy was required, concluded by a recommendation for networking and orchestration of different websites as well as communication and sales channels. The number of touchpoints and media discontinuities should be reduced, in order to eventually create a uniform brand staging, which is transparent and reliable and oriented towards the objective of lead generation.

  • Solution

Interdisciplinary working method for efficient design

Initially, T-Systems MMS implemented a detailed strategy consulting, which originated from a situation analysis and led to a comprehensive digital strategy. A cross-location and interdisciplinary team of software architects, UX designers, digital sales experts as well as frontend and backend developers was formed for the realization. A modern brand design was developed by using modern UX methods such as customer journey mapping, user flows, interface design, personnel development, wire framing, click-prototypes and living style guide, which reviews interface design and enables a dynamic content generation. Everything in an efficient design system. Parallely, a connection of Content Management Systems (Typo3) and the Shopsystem (Magento 2) was created for the international rollout.

"The Living Style Guide as a brand portal gives us the opportunity to set a CADFEM uniform design standard with the expansion of the platform into further countries. All assets are under one roof, well structured and easily expandable.
A clear guideline for editors and graphic designers in the CADFEM Group were created."

Christine Obermaier, Divisional Manager eBusiness, CADFEM GmbH
