The task.
Mettler Toledo is market leader in the production of scales and laboratory techniques. More than 1000 maintenance contracts are processed by each of the 300 employees annually. The hard copy forms produced high costs. The time between maintenance and billing can add up to 3-4 weeks. This flood of paper should be limited - and hence time & cost. To implement this goal is was necessary to analyze existing processes and improve them.
The solution.
Mobile Service Force is a supporting and efficient solution for an ideal embodiment of the process chain.
The flexible overall solution consists of 3 components:
- Interface and data synchronization. The solution is available for all mobile devices such as laptop or PDA. The data is saved on the device, a synchronization takes place if required.
- Electronic forms. All hard copy forms are displayed electronically. Furthermore, the layout can be customized.
- Integration of a digital signature. Several potentials can be used to save a client´s signature, e.g. pads, infrared pens pder PDA displays.
Customer benefit.
METTLER TOLEDO saves a tremendous amount of paper, print oder delivery costs by using the Mobile Service Force solution. The solution is integrable into any mobile device, like laptops, mobile telephones or PDAs. The processing time of service reports are shortened; the reports are always up to date due to the short synchronization intervals and a prompt invoice dispatch. These advantages positively influence the cashflow. The stock is displayed up to date due to the prompt and enhanced processes.
Rationalized processes and quick response and reaction time enhance customer satisfaction. As the solution is expandable and future-proof, the rollout was extended to other countries as well. According to the client´s statement, the ROI/ROCE will be reached in 12-15 months.
