T-Systems leads the multi-media sector in Germany for the fifth time

Frankfurt am Main, 19th April 2007: The Multimedia Solutions business unit of T-Systems has come first in the annual New Media Service Ranking for the fifth time running, affirming the information and communications technologies (ICT) service provider's position as one of Germany’s leading companies in the field of multimedia.
Dresden, 19th April 2007. “Our top position in this ranking confirms our strategy: quality, customer orientation and constant further development of our technologies are our success factors”, said Dr. Klaus Radermacher, CEO of T-Systems Multimedia Solutions. “The field of development will be particularly exciting for us in future - Web 2.0, new business models such as ‘Software as a Service’, new web access technologies such as UMTS or use of the Internet as an additional channel for traditional TV represent great challenges for companies in the digital economy.”

The New Media Service Ranking is performed by the Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft (BVDW), the Hightext publishing house and the industry magazines Horizont and Werben & Verkaufen. Taking place for the eighth time this year, the ranking is based on a survey of agencies and service providers in the new media industry. Ranks are determined by gross income in the previous year. Business areas, the number of employees and an assessment of current technical developments are also taken into account. Along with identifying the most important companies in the market, the ranking therefore also indicates long-term trends.
